As a photographer, you take on the daily task of learning and growing your skill, and you don’t always see how much you’ve grown day to day unless you take a step back. Here at Summerana we want to go way back and really see how far you’ve come by comparing one of the first images you’ve taken to one that you have taken recently. It really is a refreshing reminder that all of your hard work does pay off!
Please let me introduce you to Stephanie of Stephanie Candice Photography as this week’s featured photographer, and see how far she’s grown in her journey!
What is the year your ‘Then’ picture was taken? And your ‘Now’ picture?
My “then” picture was taken April 25th, 2011 and my “now” picture was taken June 10th, 2015.
Have Photoshop Actions changed your photography? If so, how?
By switching to actions in Photoshop, I have noticed my images are a lot more clean looking. They are bright and happy and colors pop where they need to. I have learned to use curves to adjust in addition to actions.
Tell us about your experience with Summerana – Photoshop Actions, what has it done for you and your business?
Summerana actions have made editing SO much easier for me. Editing has always been my favorite part about being a photographer. However, I have recently taken on more work than I can handle. I work full time (12-16 hour shifts), I go to school full time and I am a full time mother. The small amount of time I get to edit the pictures I take is never enough to do what I really want. Fortunately, Summerana actions and overlays have helped me out a lot during these busy times. I am completely happy with them!
Has Summerana – Photoshop Actions for Photographers helped you grow your business, and if so, how?
I would like to think that the Photoshop actions have helped to grow my business. I recently starting using them for the last session I did, which was a maternity session, and the mom-to-be (who was a previous bridezilla of mine) can’t stop complementing me on how great they look! Now she’s ready for newborn pictures, family pictures, and even wants her cats to be photographed!
What are your favorite Summerana products?
Right now I mostly use the actions because, like I previously mentioned, they are the quickest for me to use. When I DO get a little extra time, I like to play around with overlays and different textures as well.
What is one thing you have learned as a photographer that we can pass on?
One they I have learned, is to never stop learning! It doesn’t matter how much you think you know, there is always an easier or better way out there to do something. I attend workshops, I order/read books, I watch YouTube videos, I read blogs… I am always finding new and interesting things to try and I will never stop.
Thank you so much for taking the time to let us join you on your ‘Then and Now’ journey Stephanie! <3 If you’d like to continue following her on her journey, here is where you can find her:
